About us

The Ice Cream Consortium was formed in 1986 by General Foods USA, owners at the time of Kibon Ice Cream of Brazil, as a conference of independent Ice Cream Manufacturers from around the world. The purpose was, and remains, to share technical and market developments for IP, new innovations and products, general marketing knowledge and intelligence which may be beneficial to the member companies.

Alex Balaguer is an experienced ice cream industry executive currently serving as Chief Administrative Officer at Chapman’s Ice Cream (since June 2022). Previously, Alex held senior leadership roles at Lacrem(CEO, 2017–2021) and Grupo Kalise Menorquina(Deputy General Manager & Export Manager, 2001–2017). With over 25 years in the industry, Alex has been President of the IICC since 2013.

Kylie Armstrong is the Chief Operations Officer at Bulla Dairy Foods, where she has held leadership roles since 1994. She oversees operations across three frozen production sites and one chilled facility in Australia. With a strong background in manufacturing and supply chain, Kylie has led major operational improvements and innovation initiatives, and her leadership has played a key role in Bulla’s strategic growth and expansion.
Since 2013, she has been serving as Vice President of the IICC.
